Record high prices at gas pumps in America and continued problem brewing in the Middle East, Nigeria and other areas of importance to the economy of oil have made it clear to Americans that we need to develop many new avenues of energy supply and production. In other word, we must reduce our dependence on oil, because it is finally finished and, frankly, the sources of supply of cheap oil (not all oil than the stuff that is cheap to remove from the earth) are short. Energy consultants and analysts are insistent that cheap oil has “peak” or is soon to peak. What does this mean for us is expensive future if we can not find new sources of tension mechanical and electronic civilization, new sources, which are alternatives to oil.

We must also switch to other forms of energy because our present forms are too damaging to the atmosphere. Although this writing does not believe that global warming is much more likely, if any, sustained by the activities of mankind (in short, is a natural cycle and there is nothing we can do about it except prepare for the effects thereof), we certainly at present the destruction of the environment and things like air pollution with our energy sources as they are. Coal is another source of energy that we must liberate ourselves off again, it is finished, and it is dirty, and exploitation of it is dangerous and environmentally disruptive. We can also explore new, streamlined methods of producing electricity that we currently have many hydroelectric generating via so that we are less disruptive of the environment where we need to build things such as large dams.

Developing countries that have made industrialized in recent decades especially will need the benefits of alternative energy research and development, as they are currently much more damage to the environment that the United States USA. The United States, Japan and some European countries have implemented in the studies and programs for the development of alternative energy sources, and are therefore already leading by doing less damage to the environment. Developing countries like China and India need to look to Japan and the West as examples of what research and development in support of government and private investment of money. One could also add great strength to our economy to be at the forefront of these sources of alternative energy development and commercialization of technologies and services to nations like India, China, Brazil, and so on.

Using biofuel energy from things like “supertrees” and soybeans, refined hydroelectric technology, natural gas, hydrogen, fuel cells, the building of atomic energy plants, the continued development of solar photovoltaic cells, more research into wind power exploit all of these are viable sources of energy that can act as alternatives to the huge amount of oil and coal that we currently are so dependent on our life patterns life. The energy of the future is green.
